Learning the basics about the many ingredients is really very simple. Perhaps you’ll find that you don’t have to rely on other people’s skin recipes—you can learn to make them yourself! There are an infinite variety of recipes; only your imagination sets the limit.

  • SIMPLE: Try the most common ingredients first like honey, oatmeal, yogurt and olive oil. Honey can be used by itself as a face mask or scrub. It cannot be simpler!
  • EXOTIC: When you master those simple ones, try some more exotic ingredients as extra virgin coconut oil, Manuka honey, jojoba oil or cupuacu butter. There are many wonderful ingredients to treat your skin.
  • ADVANCED: Heating some ingredients and adding thickeners, emulsifiers, essential oils you can create great moisturizers, body butter, and other products. I love doing this when I have time, it’s great fun!

Check that you’re not allergic

Be aware that a few people might be allergic to certain ingredients even though they are natural and organic. Reactions are usually very mild. But be sure to try new ingredients on a small spot first to see if there will be any reaction or not. I’ve found that if I ever have a mild reaction, it will be from stronger ingredients as essential oils. Essential oils are concentrated and you need to be cautious not to add too much in your skin recipes. NEVER use essential oils undiluted on your skin. use them properly and you’ll feel and smell wonderful!
